DESCRIPTION:Okay okay okay\, so the guys on the last hike have voted against me and the results are in! IT’S HIKING TIME! \nWith that in mind we will be heading up another huge mountain as a group\, this time? Scafell Pike is on the menu. \nAt 978m\, Scafell Pike is England’s highest peak. And yes\, having done Snowdon we now reckon we have this in the bag! \nThis is an open invite for anyone else wanting to hang out with some cool people\, in the middle of the wilderness as we work together to tackle this classic  & beautiful route from Wasdale. \nWasdale is definitely the most popular route however\, that doesn’t mean it’ll be easy-peasy. Be prepared for steep sections\, tricky rambles and rugged terrain\, particularly near the summit. \nThe reward for your hard earned efforts? \nA Talent Show At The Top! That’s right you heard me A TALENT SHOW!! \nYou’ve made it to the summit of Scafell Pike—England’s highest peak—and now it’s time to show us what you’ve REALLY got! 🎉 \nIntroducing Scafell’s Got Talent\, the ultimate talent show that’s taking place right here\, 978m above sea level! Whether you’ve got the voice of a rockstar\, the moves of a dancefloor legend\, or a party trick that’ll blow our minds\, this is your moment to shine! ✨ \nHere’s the deal: \n\nEveryone must take part (yep\, no hiding at the back!).\nYou can sing\, dance\, bust out that secret talent\, or bring along something for a good old-fashioned show & tell. It doesn’t matter what you do\, as long as you give it your all!\nWe’ll score the performances as a group\, and the winner(s) will claim ultimate summit bragging rights! 🏆\n\n  \nHere’s what you need to know: \n🗓 Date: 09/11/2024\n⏰ Meeting Time: 09:00 AM\n📍 Meeting Location: National Trust Lake Head Car Park\, Wasdale\, CA20 1EX (What3Words: “spelling.cold.alongside”)\n⏳ Duration: 7 hours total (3.5 hours up\, 3.5 hours down)\n🧭 Route: Wasdale to Scafell Pike (up and down via the same route) \nAnd of course\, as before … It’s totally FREE to attend \nJust grab your ticket on our site and we’ll send you the link to join our WhatsApp group\, where you can meet the other fearless adventurers who are also pushing the boundaries and trying something a little different. \n  \nThe Planned Itinerary: \n– 08:45 – 09:00 AM: Meet at the National Trust’s Lake Head Car Park\, Wasdale (Postcode: CA20 1EX). Parking is £9 for the day (coins only)\, so get there early to park up and get sorted. National Trust members park for free! \n– 09:15 AM: Start of the hike along Lingmell Beck. The first part is steep\, but the views make it worth it! \n– 10:30 AM: We’ll cross Lingmell Beck and head up the toughest part of the hike—Brown Tongue. It’s steep and short\, but we’ll push through as a team! \n– 11:30 AM: After conquering Brown Tongue\, the path becomes less obvious. Stay close to your guide as we navigate through Hollow Stones towards Lingmel Col. \n– 12:30 PM: Summit time! You’ve made it to the top of England’s highest peak—Scafell Pike! Soak up the panoramic views (and bragging rights)\, refuel with snacks\, and snap those summit photos! \n– 01:00 PM: We’ll start the descent\, retracing our steps back to Wasdale. \n– 04:30 – 05:00 PM: Arrive back at the car park\, and feel free to chill out with the crew at the local pub or grab something from the catering van at Wastwater! \n\nKit List – What to Bring: \nClothing: – Thermal wicking base layer (avoid cotton) – Fleece top or jacket – Waterproof jacket and trousers (Scafell Pike’s weather is unpredictable) – Comfortable hiking trousers (no jeans) – Well-worn hiking boots (break them in with a 2-3 hour walk before the big day) – Hat\, gloves\, and extra layers for warmth—temps drop fast at the summit! \nPersonal Items: – A trekking backpack (30-40L capacity recommended) – Spare fleece or down jacket for warmth – Water (at least 2 litres) and a thermos of something hot if you want! – Packed lunch and high-energy snacks (nuts\, fruit\, protein bars\, etc.) – Sunglasses and sun cream (yes\, even in the UK!) – Walking poles (optional but handy for the steep sections) – Basic first aid kit (blister plasters\, anyone?) \n  \nDisclaimer: Participants are responsible for their own safety during this event. Because it’s time for the THE SNOWDON CLIMB SQUAD!! 🏔️ \nYep\, we’re taking on the epic Snowdon\, but in true “Lewis struggles to climb stairs” style—via the stunning Llanberis Path. This most suitable climb for any level. It’s also a more scenic\, iconic route to the summit\, and it’s calling your name! \nWhether you’re a pro hiker or just thinking\, “Hey\, why not challenge myself?”\, we’ve got you covered. This route is as gentle as it gets (for a mountain\, anyway) and we’ll be soaking in some INSANE views along the way. \nHere’s what you need to know: \n🗓 Date: 6th October\n⏰ Meeting Time: 10:00 AM\n📍 Meeting Location: Snowdon Mountain Railway Car Park (LL55 4TT)\n⏳ Duration: 6-7 hours total (up and down)\n🧭 Route: Llanberis Path \nAnd guess what? At the summit\, enjoy the stunning views (weather permitting)\, snap some photos\, and take a well-earned rest. \nIt can be quite cold and windy at the top\, so layer up. \n– 02:30 PM: Begin the descent back down via Llanberis Path. \n– 04:30 – 05:00 PM: Arrive back at the starting point in Llanberis. \nWe encourage everyone to stay for a little social time after the hike if you’d like! \n  \nKit List – What to Bring: \nRecommended Clothing: \n– Thermal wicking base layer (avoid cotton)\n– Fleece top or jacket\n– Polyester\, fleece\, or woollen trousers (no jeans)\n– Well-worn hiking boots (make sure you’ve walked in them for 2-3 hours continuously beforehand)\n– Waterproof jacket and trousers (weather on Snowdon can change rapidly)\n– Layer up your clothing to adjust to the varying temperatures during the hike\n– Hat\, gloves\, and ear muffs for the colder temperatures near the summit \nPersonal Items: \n– A good quality trekking backpack (30L capacity recommended)\n– Spare fleece or woollen top for extra warmth\n– Flask or water bottle (at least 1 litre)\n– Snacks to boost morale\, especially for the summit!\n– Sunglasses and sun cream\n– Walking poles (optional but recommended for those needing extra support)\n– First aid kit (one will be carried by the guide\, but personal first aid items are always useful. \nImportant Notes: \n– Check out the conditions on Snowdon before the climb: Snowdon Climb Info\n– Familiarise yourself with the countryside code: Countryside Code\n– Remember\, the weather on Snowdon can change rapidly\, so be prepared for cooler conditions at the summit. \nDisclaimer: Participants are responsible for their own safety during this networking event.
