I completely forgot to share some secret insights with you cheeky marketers out there. No point in gatekeeping when sharing benefits us all, right? (Sharing is caring and all that!)
So, here’s the lowdown on the DOs and DON’Ts of creating killer Reels, straight from the program.
Use these tips to level up your game:
DO’s:
✅ Post consistently! Even one Reel a week can boost your reach, but if you’re aiming for explosive growth, 3-5 Reels weekly is where it’s at. Need proof? Devon Rodriguez managed to rack up 1M+ Facebook and 660K Instagram followers in just six months!
✅ Follow @creators and “Meta for Creators.” They’re constantly dropping tips, trends, and updates. (Not sure if it’s groundbreaking, but hey, why not?)
✅ Be authentic. Share relatable, laugh-worthy content that connects with your audience. Interactive features can also boost engagement.
✅ Use 3-5 relevant hashtags. Mix it up with general and niche tags to maximize visibility.
✅ Audio is everything. Trending tracks or remixed original audio can skyrocket your viral potential.
✅ Remix, collaborate, and crosspost. Sharing your Instagram Reels on Facebook is an easy way to double your reach.
✅ Get creative with tools. Text, filters, effects, and stickers can make your content pop—even if you hate editing in-app (like me).
✅ Track your metrics. Know what’s working, and use the data to get smarter about your content.
✅ Monetise your Reels. If you’re eligible, Facebook ads on Reels can bring in some extra revenue. Cha-ching!
DON’Ts:
❌ Avoid watermarks from other apps. Uploading TikTok-branded videos? Hard pass.
❌ Say no to text-heavy, bordered, or blurry videos. Stick to high-quality, vertical 9:16 Reels for the best engagement.
❌ Don’t use unlicensed music. Instagram’s library is your go-to. Or go classical—that’s my personal hack.
❌ Follow the rules. Meta’s Community Standards aren’t optional. Keep it clean and compliant.
